The sun is called Inti in both Aymara and Quechua, the languages of half my family. Inti is usually called Tata Inti, which means Father Sun. In this image, I drew inspiration from the cosmic serpent Amaru, who can travel between the earthly and spiritual realms. The moon is called Phaxsi in Aymara. Phaxsi is watched by a cholita mountain. She received her Masters in Development Practice from UC Berkeley in 2019 and focuses on community building.
